Yummy Turmeric Milk

  • 1 cup of milk - choose the type of milk you like, if you choose cow milk take whole organic cow milk
  • Half a tea spoon of ground turmeric or grate a small piece the size of the top of your finger of fresh tourmeric root
  • A bit of black pepper (for absorption)
  • Half a tea spoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 tea spoon of honey
  • Adjust quantities to your liking


  1. Heat it all up
  2. Add the honey last. Some more Ayurvedic wisdom: do the pinky test to make sure the honey doesn`t get too hot and thus toxic: only add the honey once you can safely dip your pinky into the hot liquid without burning it
  3. In Ayurveda, we try to only consume whole foods such as whole milk (not skimmed) because it is believed that these foods loose their nutrients and magical power nature gave them otherwise :))
  4. Cinnamon is a warming spice, this milk is great in winter or before going to bed. Turmeric reduces inflammation and potent antioxidant activity keeps cells functioning well among many other things.
